Michel Lotito started eating metal and glass at the age of nine. Since 1966, he's eaten 18 bicycles, 2 beds, 1 coffin, 15 supermarket trolleys, 7 TV sets, 6 chandeliers, 1 Cessna Light aircraft, and 1 computer. This is Michel and his plate.

Maybe it's because I'm pregnant but I'm finding this surprisingly disturbing. Especially the metal eating guy. Ugh. I am curious about who runs this place though. Is it a volunteer group? What are the meetings like? Or is this place the brainchild of a loner who really wishes people asked more questions about his or her own record (held in some extremly obscure category) back in 1968? I don't know. I wonder.

But does he eat meat and vegetable too? Perhaps he is getting all the trace elements her needs, but what about protein?
I, for one, can't abide these "world record holder" contests. As soon as you hold the record, someone else comes along and pushes themsleves to break it. And they almost always can once the gloves have been laid down.
Next we will see the airplane eating guy. At least it is low on calories.

Remember that woman who claimed to be able to live on nothing but air? I can't remember what her name was, but she seriously claimed to "not eat," ever. No food, just air and water. Can you imagine her meeting the bicycle eating guy? They would HATE each other.
